![]() ![]() In the second case, you could then paste the Bivouac Waypoint Text into the custom gpx link in Bivouac.Ī common requirement after a multi-day trip is to combine several track logs into a single Gpx file. You can then directly export your route into a gpx file, or you can export it as Bivouac Waypoint Text. If you don't know how to work Draw and Save, see GMap Draw and Save. To mark your route, open a map using any GMap link and then use the "Draw and Save" choice on the GMap menu. The idea is to mark your whole route on GMap, then download it as a gpx file. ![]() Suppose you want to just digitize your own route, rather than downloading and combining road data from bivouac. Eg: In backcountry Navigator, the "CanMatrix" maps are the 1:50K maps, so you can quickly look in GMap and see which roads are already marked. In the above example, you wouldn't really need a gpx file with all those roads, because the major ones will already be on your GPS basemap. Now I see the map, and I can click on the little green icons on the various roads to access their data records. Set the radius to 60 km, turn mountains off to reduce clutter First, go to the mountain page of a peak approximately in the center between Fernie and Waterton. To figure out which roads you want, you might use GMap. So what I might do is go to each relevant road page, generate a gpx file with just that one track. This distance is over 90 km as the crow flies, so trying to make one giant gpx file with a radius of 50 km from some center point is going to have too many roads and trails. (Based on Rick Colliers driving instructions in xx1). You can do this with a text editor, just cut and paste the tracks you want into a single file.Įxample 1: All Roads on the route from Fernie to Waterton Alberta. Sometimes you might want to merge certain tracks from a number of separate gpx files. Download that file and have a look yourself. This example is in track log titled Conroy Creek to Clinker Peak. Below is a series of sections which I chopped out of the track log generated by my GPS (Backcountry Navigator). But you can put in some line breaks to see what's going on. If a track is created by a GPS, every has a and an elevation. Gpx files created by your GPS are a bit more messy than the examples I gave. For example waypoints can have for elevation, and for descriptions and for symbols. You will immediately see that there are some other "elements" I haven't mentioned. Now that you know how to make simple waypoints and tracks, you can dig into any gpx file generated by bivouac or your GPS. And within that you have all the points on the track. ![]() Within that, you have at least one which is a "segment" of the track. Now that you know about waypoints, the next chapter talks about tracks. If you wanted to have dozens of cabins you would just duplicate that line, one waypoint for each cabin: You can put the whole waypoint onto a single line: The actual contents you want to edit are the sections.īelow are the three lines making up a waypoint section. Ignore the first few lines which are just standard preamble of all gpx files. Other browsers do things a bit differently but eventually you can open any file with notepad.īelow is a simple example you can start with. I told it to open such files using notepad and from then on it's very convenient. I use Firefox to download because it asks me right away if I want to open it or save it. You can open any of the gpx files from bivouac with a text editor. Notepad is a text editor that comes with windows. Such files can be edited using any text editor. Most people learn Gpx syntax from examples, so this document is filled with examples. Therefore this document starts with an explanation of the basic markup tags such as and to designate waypoints and tracks. Although you can create custom kml files using tools such as Google Earth and comnvert them to Gpx using tools like Gps Visualizer, to really know what's going on, it's good to be able to open and inspect the files with a text editor. Why learn the simple gpx syntax? Because you then can fix any gpx file directly and know what is going on. Once you know the markup tags for waypoints and track logs ( and ) you can combine track logs, add new waypoints, etc. By "custom" I mean a gpx file that has been edited using a text editor. This document is for people who want to create custom Gpx Files. Defining a set of Points using Google Earth Splicing together Several Tracks using Text EditorĨ. I want to say that if anything has come close to hitting the "Object gets larger" game on the head since Katamari, this would be it. ![]() It doesn't have to rely on crazy gimmicks when it stars a time-traveling piece of gray goo that can eat anything it comes in contact with! Certain stages are more danger-filled than others, but for the most part, the only thing you have to worry about are finding more small objects so you can grow and eat bigger things.Ĭasual and extremely entertaining, Tasty Planet: Back for Seconds is filled with a lot of straight-up fun. You can select timed mode to give yourself a bit of incentive to move fast, but apart from that, your only real dangers are creatures larger than you that might give chase, knocking your size down a bit with each hit. The gameplay isn't very challenging, but to be honest, it's not supposed to be. If you've got a friend nearby, sit down and collect things together. One great new feature of Tasty Planet: Back for Seconds is the inclusion of a two player cooperative mode. Comparing Back for Seconds to the original Tasty Planet, you'll find quicker, more dynamic gameplay with plenty of new things to call it a sequel. The game shares a similar "collect small things" design concept, but really its charm (and 2D point of view) are all its own. All of this takes place across 50 or so levels, some of which are unlocked as you play, and four different gameplay modes.Īnalysis: It wouldn't be possible to discuss Tasty Planet: Back for Seconds without mentioning Katamari Damacy or The Wonderful End of the World. You'll also find special stages that task you with escaping mazes or collecting a number of one kind of item. There are six time periods to work through, each with its own unique things to eat, from the smallest piece of candy or scarab beetle to the largest dinosaur or satellite orbiting the Earth. The time traveling mechanism allows for a nice variety of settings in Tasty Planet 2. It's extremely satisfying to fight with obstacles and run from enemies only to turn around and gobble them up a few moments later. A handy arrow points to the closest, largest object you can collect, and whenever an item is small enough to be eaten, you'll see a set of small icons surrounding it. Once you reach a certain diameter, the camera bobs upward and gives you a wider view. Your size is constantly monitored at the top left corner of the screen. No jumping, no climbing, just moving and devouring. This all happens with a simple interface that uses either the mouse or keys for movement. With each item nommed, the goo grows larger, allowing it to pick up even bigger items in its never-ending quest to keep eating. Like some human babies you might know, the protagonist in Tasty Planet will eat anything smaller than it is, gobbling up objects without pausing to chew. As you can guess, this is a dangerous thing to let loose on the Earth, but give it a time machine and all of the past and future could be in quite a pickle. Tasty Planet: Back for Seconds from Dingo Games plays on this compulsion and puts you in control of a blob of gray goo that can eat anything smaller than it is. We're not so much interesting in gathering buildings as we are looking at them, but if buildings were pint-sized, you can bet they'd fill our pockets like lint-covered jellybeans. For some reason, everyone loves collecting things that are smaller than they are. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Rainbow Unicorn Pattern – Perfect for littles ones to snuggle up with.I have seen so many free crochet patterns of darling animals, we could never list them all, but here’s some sweet ones to get you started. One story is that he saw from a train window several little pigs struggling to get under a fence, and the rhyming name occurred to him then. Saunders’ reason for choosing the intriguing name Piggly Wiggly ® remains a mystery he was curiously reluctant to explain its origin. Piggly Wiggly Corporation continued to prosper as franchiser for the hundreds of independently owned grocery stores allowed to operate under the Piggly Wiggly name and during the next several decades, functioned successfully under various owners. The stock was successfully traded on the New York Stock Exchange for some time, but through a series of stock transactions in the early 1920s, Saunders lost control of Piggly Wiggly and had no further association with the company. The original Piggly Wiggly Corporation became owner of all Piggly Wiggly properties: the name, the patents, etc., and Saunders began issuing stock in the Corporation. Piggly Wiggly Corporation, established by Saunders when he opened the first store in Memphis, secured the self-service format and issued franchises to hundreds of grocery retailers for the operation of Piggly Wiggly stores. There were shopping baskets, open shelves and no clerks to shop for the customer – all unheard of! Operating under the unusual name Piggly Wiggly, it was unlike any other grocery store of that time. Saunders, a flamboyant and innovative man, noticed that this method resulted in wasted time and expense, so he came up with an unheard-of solution that would revolutionize the entire grocery industry: he developed a way for shoppers to serve themselves.ĭespite predictions that this novel idea would fail, Saunders’ first store opened Septemat 79 Jefferson Street in Memphis. In grocery stores of that time, shoppers presented their orders to clerks who gathered the goods from the store shelves. Piggly Wiggly®, America’s first true self-service grocery store, was founded in Memphis, Tenn. We have many departments with the highest quality products. If you need anything please ask one of our team members, and we will take care of you. We pride ourselves on great customer service. We are a locally owned full service grocery store. ![]() |
